Field guide № 03 — Nonprofits & community organisations

Do more with the volunteers and budget you already have.

The programmes outgrew the spreadsheet years ago. Sign-ups arrive by text, donations by bank transfer with no reference, and every funding report means a week of reconstruction. We build calm, ownable tools for organisations that run on goodwill.

For charities, foundations, faith and community groups, and volunteer-run organisations across Aotearoa.

§ 01 — What we build

Tools that respect
a volunteer's evening.

Everything a community organisation needs online — built once, handed over properly, and maintainable by whoever puts their hand up next year.

A proper home for the organisation

One place that explains who you are, what you run, and how to get involved — clear enough for a first-time visitor, credible enough for a funder.

Programme & event sign-ups

Youth programmes, volunteer drives, community dinners — people register online, and the coordinator gets a clean list instead of a paper pile.

Donations that actually arrive

Simple, trustworthy online giving wired to your bank account — one-off and recurring — without a percentage skimmed by a middle platform.

Volunteer & impact tooling

Rosters, hour tracking, and the numbers funders ask for at report time — collected as you go, not reconstructed from memory each March.

§ 02 — Work in this field

Serving the people
who serve.

Site for a national interfaith and community foundation running youth programmes, volunteer drives, and food-relief initiatives for 3,500+ people a year.

Outcome — one home for every programme, drive, and initiative, run by the foundation's own people.

§ 04 — Common questions

Asked at the
committee table.

Do you discount for registered charities?

Yes — the prices on this page already reflect our community rate, and registered charities can ask about further flexibility on payment timing. We would rather shape the invoice around your grant cycle than see the project not happen.

Can volunteers with no technical background actually run it?

That is the design constraint we start from. Updating a programme page or posting an event should be no harder than writing an email. Every build ends with a handover session, and we leave behind short written guides, not a manual.

Can you add online donations to a site we already have?

Usually, yes. If your existing site is structurally sound we can add a donation flow to it; if it is not, we will tell you honestly and quote both paths so you can decide.

We have a grant deadline. How fast can you move?

A Noticeboard build can be live in two to three weeks when your content is ready. Tell us the deadline up front — we plan the build backwards from it, and we will tell you plainly if it cannot be met rather than discovering that together in the final week.

§ 05 — Contact

Tell us about
your organisation.

We read every enquiry ourselves and reply within two working days. Quick chats, long briefs, half-formed ideas — all welcome.

Send a short note about who you serve, what you run, and where the paper piles up. If there's a grant application or committee meeting involved, tell us the date — we'll shape our reply so you can take it straight to the table.
