Field guide № 01 — Schools & educators

Software that gives teachers their hours back.

Report writing eats the evenings. The data lives in five places that don't talk to each other. And every edtech pitch promises transformation while adding another login. We build quieter things: tools that take real admin off real teachers, starting with the data you already have.

For schools, kura, English-language providers, and tutoring academies across Aotearoa — and the teachers, leaders, and boards inside them.

§ 01 — What we build

Less admin,
more teaching.

From the public website to the reporting cycle — built around how schools actually run, not how software wishes they did.

School & enrolment websites

Marketing and enrolment sites that answer a parent’s questions before they ring the office — and that the office manager can update without a support ticket.

AI-assisted reporting

Plain-English reports drawn from the data you already have in Google Classroom — for teachers, school leaders, and boards — with at-risk students flagged automatically.

Tutoring & membership platforms

Bookings, learning plans, and progress tracking for tutoring academies and after-school programmes — flexible weekly bookings, no lock-in contracts.

Parent & whānau communication

Newsletters, notices, and programme updates that reach families where they are, in language they actually read.

§ 02 — Work in this field

Built for classrooms,
used in classrooms.

Education is our deepest bed — four shipped platforms, from enrolment sites to AI reporting, with OneStopEnglish before them.

№ 01

Learna

EdTech · AI

AI platform that turns Google Classroom data into plain-English reports for teachers, school leaders, and boards — flagging at-risk students automatically.

Outcome — reporting that took evenings now takes a review pass; at-risk students surface before the term ends.

№ 02

DynaSpeak

Education

Marketing and enrolment site for an Auckland English-language school, covering General, Employment, and Academic English programmes for international and local students.

Outcome — enrolment enquiries from three continents arrive through the site, not the front desk.

№ 03

Vertex Academy

Education

Membership site for an Auckland maths tutoring academy covering Years 1–13 and NCEA exam prep, with flexible no-lock-in weekly bookings and personalised learning plans.

Outcome — weekly bookings and learning plans run themselves; the tutors tutor.

§ 03 — Packages & engagements

A site has a price.
A pilot has a plan.

School websites are a known quantity, so we price them like one. AI and reporting work starts smaller — a conversation, then a pilot that has to earn its keep.

AI & reporting projects

These don't fit a fixed menu — every school's data is different. They run in three steps, and each step has to justify the next.

№ 01

A scoping conversation

We look at the data you already collect — Classroom, spreadsheets, your SMS — and identify where the reporting hours actually go. No commitment, no jargon, and an honest answer if AI is not the right tool for your problem.

№ 02

A pilot with one cohort

One year group, one reporting cycle, real data. Teachers see draft reports they can edit rather than write from scratch. We measure the hours saved before anyone commits to more.

№ 03

Roll out at your pace

When the pilot earns its keep, we extend it across the school — with your data staying in New Zealand and your teachers staying in control of every word that goes home.

§ 04 — Common questions

Asked in the
staff room.

Do you work with Google Classroom, Kamar, or Hero?

Learna is built on Google Classroom data today. For SMS platforms like Kamar and Hero we scope the integration case by case — where there is an export or API, we can usually work with it, and we will tell you before any money changes hands.

Where does student data live?

In New Zealand, with access limited to your own staff. We design for privacy first: the minimum data needed, retained no longer than needed, and never used to train anything. We will walk your board through exactly what is stored and where.

Can our office manager update the website?

Yes — that is the standard we build to. Term dates, notices, staff pages, and enrolment information are all editable by non-technical staff, and every build ends with a handover session.

What does an AI reporting pilot cost?

It depends on your data and cohort size, which is why we start with a free scoping conversation rather than a rate card. Pilots are fixed-price and quoted before we begin — no open-ended AI experiments on a school budget.

§ 05 — Contact

Tell us about
your school.

We read every enquiry ourselves and reply within two working days. Quick chats, long briefs, half-formed ideas — all welcome.

Send a short note about your school or academy and where the hours go — reporting, enrolment, the website nobody can edit. If it's Learna you're curious about, say so and we'll start there.
